Lizzie Coles-Kemp

Lizzie Coles-KempDr Lizzie Coles-Kemp B.A.(Hons), M.Sc. Ph.D. (London) was awarded a B.A (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies and Linguistics from the University of Hull in 1988. She worked in the security software industry for seven years, specialising in UNIX access control software.  In 1997 Lizzie became the global IT Security Officer for the British Council and completed the Information Security MSc at Royal Holloway. For eight years she was a Lead Assessor for Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) auditing organisations to ISO/IEC 27001 and tScheme.

She now works for the Information Security Group (Royal Holloway) as a lecturer in information governance and security management for the BSc in Biomedical Informatics which is a collaborative programme between St George's, University of London, Kingston University and Royal Holloway. In 2008 Lizzie completed a Ph.D. in information security management system design at King's College, London.  Her academic research interest is socio-technical studies in information security and security management process design. She is a Primary Investigator on the Visualisation and Other Methods of Expression (VOME) research project which looks at privacy and consent dialogues in on-line services. The project is funded by The Technology Strategy Board, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
