Martin Smith has had a fascinating and varied career in the world of espionage.  He gained his degree in behavioural psychology before spending nearly 15 years as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force, mainly assigned to counter-espionage and counter-terrorism duties throughout East and West Europe.  After being awarded membership of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for this work, he left the Service to carve out a second career in the commercial sector.  After senior security positions within Touche Ross, Kroll and Standard Chartered Bank, he formed (in 1997) The Security Company (International) Limited, which today is one of the leading consultancies of corporate security and compliance awareness in the world. 

Martin and his specialist team help major corporations prevent industrial espionage and put in place fraud prevention and e-business security strategies.  He is particularly renowned for his work in implementing effective security awareness campaigns in large organisations and is an internationally recognised author and speaker on his subject.  He does all this with a refreshing, amusing and captivating style, avoiding the prescriptive approach and making the subject interesting to everybody and relevant to the cut-throat world in which increasingly we operate.
