Dr Guy Walker
Heriot Watt University
Dr Guy Walker has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Southampton and a PhD in Human Factors from Brunel University. He is currently a Lecturer in the School of the Built Environment at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where his research contributes to the Transport and Infrastructure Theme. Prior to this, Guy worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southampton for the Defence Technology Centre for Human Factors Integration (DTC HFI), a large research consortium funded by the MoD. His work focused on relating cutting edge concepts in human factors to future military command and control. Along with his colleagues in the DTC consortium Guy was awarded the Ergonomics Society President’s Medal for original research in 2008. He is author/co-author of nine books on diverse topics in human factors, including a major text on human factors methods, and is author/co-author of over forty international peer-reviewed journals.
